Online Roulette Strategy

The game of roulette is a classic and easy to learn casino game. Although you can win a lot of money playing roulette, it is also one of the easiest places for the house to earn a lot of money. When you win, you win big, but be weary to gamble away too much on the roulette tables. So don't go here if you want to optimise your chances of winning, but play roulette for the thrill and excitement. This means even the best online roulette strategy cannot give you a long term profit (unless you get a big bonus with low wagering requirements).

Introduction To Online Roulette

Roulette is played by placing a bet on a number which you think the ball will fall on when the wheel stops. The wheel is usually divided into 36 holes with an equal probability that the ball will fall into each of them.
American Roulette
The American Roulette
Once you decide which number you will place your bet on, you place your chips on the corresponding number on the table in front of you. If the ball falls on your number, you'll get your bet multiplied back (see quotas below). There are basically two different kinds of online roulette; each with its own rules. In the next sections we will shed light on the two different roulette systems and explain American roulette rules as well as European roulette rules.

American Roulette Rules

When using American rules, the payout can be up to 94.74%. In the American roulette system, the wheel will have 38 holes, which are numbered 0, 00 and 1-36. The table below gives you an overview of the payoff quota and probabilities that you can expect from betting various combinations.

European Roulette Rules

There is one major difference between European roulette rules and American roulette rules. In European roulette there is not a 00 hole, giving you an advantage and a better chance of winning. (The payout now becomes 97.3%.)
European Roulette
The European Roulette

Also, if you choose to bet on the simple chances with payoff quotas of 1:1, and if the ball stops on 0, you will loose your stakes if you are playing American roulette. However in European roulette, you will either have your stakes 'imprisoned' (which means the roulette wheel will spin again and you will get your money back if the ball stops in your favor) or they'll pay you half of your bet back. Therefore, in European roulette, it is advantageous to place your bet on simple chances (1:1) because your possible payout is this situation is 98.65%.

Based on European rules, the payoff quotas and probabilities go as follows:

Bet on Example Payoff quota Probability
Any number735:12.7%
2-number-combination8-917:15.4%
3-number-combination13-14-1511:18.1%

The Martingale System: A Winning Roulette System

When you play online casinos you will notice that there are never-ending variations of winning systems for the game of roulette. However, the variations are never as advantageous as they seem, so please be careful when playing. In roulette, like all casino games, initial winnings don't guarantee continued success. According to mathematic logic, the house will always win. Roulette

The most famous winning system is called 'The Martingale System' and can be applied to a variety of casino games. This system promotes the strategy of doubling your bet every time you lose and returning to the starting bet each time you win. The mechanism works so that your latest win will always be big enough to compensate for any previous losts. Lets say you start with a €5 bet and you loose 7 rounds, then your bets will look like this: €5-10-20-40-80-120-240-480. The problem is that in order to be able to place the last bet, you need to have an initial account of €960 (even if you have this you may not be allowed to place such a high bet at the casino). When you sum up the winnings after these risky bets you would altogether have won €5! From a theoretical perspective this system looks good, but in practice it causes troubles when you suddenly run out of money on your account and can't double your bets, or when casino won't allow you to place a high wager.

Overall, this system shows to present no advantage in the long run. It requires that you put a lot of money at risk for small winnings.

Online Roulette At Inter Casino

For online roulette playing, we recommend Inter Casino. Outstanding graphics and an excellent gambling environment make it an ideal site to play roulette. Plus, you have the option to play for fun or for money. Good luck with your online roulette strategy!
